End of Summer Staycation
Staycation, all I ever wanted!!🏖 You guys! The end of summer is upon us 😔 and that means this mama had to plan a staycation before back to school.
After the season of summer camp, surf camp, beach weekends, activities for the family and working full time, it’s super important to me to unplug, unwind & recharge. Everyone is super busy & sometimes it’s hard to take the time to step away, but I’m so glad we did! We spent that last couple of days filling our memories banks with laughs, food, fun & making memories that will last a life time. Staying in the San Diego area with some of our favorite peeps, we sat poolside, played pool games, swam, rode watersides & made plans for the next time we can get us all together!
We stayed at the Welk Resort San Diego Escondido. It’s only a 2.5 ⭐️ star rating on Yelp, but or friend were already booked there and all we cared about was being together.
Pros: Loved the ambiance ❤️ The resort is surrounded by green mountains that makes you feel in touch with nature. The pool was beautiful, the kids had a great time and the cabana was awesome! Of course, we had delicious cocktails pool side (Truly Spiked Seltzer and a Moscow’s mule due to my workout plan).
Cons: Customer service in the pool area could use some work. It’s a little odd... the food people at the pool are different than the cabana people. So, you can order food at cabana, but when it was delayed 2hrs, we ended up having to get it ourselves from the bar because the cabana people have nothing to do with the kitchen 🥴 Not too much of a con, but when you’re paying for a staycation and a cabana with 4 adults and 5 kids, good service is definitely appreciated.
Overall, we had a great time with our friends and are ready for Julie’s baby shower and then... Back to School!! Here’s a few pic of our stay the last two days. - Leslie
